IMPORTANT CHANGES TO ETIHADS CHAUFFEUR SERVICE

Etihads free Chauffeur Service will continue to operate from their home in Abu Dhabi for guests travelling in Residence, First Class, Business Class and Redemption First & Business Class, subject to fare choice conditions. Guests can use the service when Abu Dhabi is the origin, stopover or final destination of their journey. Guests travelling in Etihads Residence cabin will continue to receive their complimentary chauffeur service in Residence destinations across their network. From 3 July 2017, a paid airport transfer service will replace Etihads complimentary Chauffeur Service across all other destinations. The new service will be available to guests across all cabins, and includes a wide range of vehicle choices with options tailored to suit individual requirements. Guests will also be able to earn Etihad Guest Miles on every journey. Tickets purchased before 3 July 2017, for travel after the new service is in place, will not be affected by the change. However, if a date change or a reissuance of the ticket is required the new policy will be applied. READ MORE

 

MORE UNITED POLARIS SEATS ON MORE FLIGHTS

United have announced the rollout of three more Boeing 777-300 ERs featuring the all-new United Polaris business class seats on the following routes: • San Francisco (SFO) – Beijing (PEK) beginning September 6, 2017 westbound • San Francisco (SFO) – Frankfurt (FRA) beginning October 5, 2017 eastbound • New York/Newark (EWR) – Tokyo Narita (NRT) beginning October 28, 2017 westbound. Each United Polaris suite-like pod features direct access to the aisle, a 180-degree flat-bed, multiple surfaces that enable passengers to dine while working, universal A/C power as well as 2 USB ports, a 16-inch high-definition entertainment screen, and an illuminated “Do Not Disturb” sign. Additionally, a marble-topped bar unit offers customers in business class a place to enjoy a mid-flight drink or snack. CLICK HERE 

 

JAPAN AIRLINES GOES DOUBLE-DAILY BETWEEN LONDON AND TOKYO

Commencing 29th October 2017, Japan Airlines (JAL) will operate a second daily nonstop service between London Heathrow and Tokyo Haneda. A key benefit of the new direct service (JL041/ 042) is that it is the earliest arrival time in both directions on the London – Tokyo route, enabling customers to maximize their time at their chosen destination. DE VERE TORTWORTH COURT UNVEILS £5M RENOVATION

De Vere Tortworth Court, situated just 20 minutes from Bristol on the edge of the Cotswolds, has unveiled its £5m renovation which is part of a wider £50m investment in the De Vere country estate hotels portfolio. The hotel’s 10 flexible meeting and event spaces have also undergone a refresh as part of the project, including the Victorian Orangery which has a capacity of 100. The hotel has completed all of its bedroom renovations and has seen 11 new luxurious suites added to the mansion house, including a 129 square metre family suite. The hotel’s spa and gym have also been upgraded, offering business and leisure travellers a sanctuary in which to relax and unwind. CLICK HERE 

 

FIRST IS FLYING WITH BRITISH AIRWAYS

The First Wing opened on April 5, the new exclusive check-in area for British Airways’ First, Gold Executive Club and oneworld Emerald customers at Heathrow Terminal 5 has welcomed nearly 200,000* travellers through the dedicated security channel leading directly into the Galleries First lounge and Concorde Room. The airline is continuing to invest in other improvements to First, including a refresh of its flagship Concorde Room at Heathrow Terminal 5 to be unveiled in October 2017. The lounge, which is exclusively for First customers will receive an updated look and feel, as well as improvements to the terrace area. READ MORE

 

STRENGTHENING TRANSATLANTIC PARTNERSHIPS

Virgin Atlantic have announced their intention to expand their strategic partnership with The Air France-KLM Group and Delta Air Lines to offer customers access to the most comprehensive transatlantic route network via an extensive joint venture. The long-term joint venture would offer convenient flight schedules with competitive fares and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, including the ability to earn and redeem miles across all carriers. The benefits would also include co-location of facilities at key airport hubs to improve connectivity times for customers, as well as access to each carrier’s airport lounges for premium customers. The enhanced joint venture, including Alitalia, would become the airline partnership of choice for customers, offering more than 300 daily nonstop transatlantic flights and increasing competitive routings with offerings across key business markets including Amsterdam, Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, Los Angeles, London Heathrow, Minneapolis-St Paul, New York-JFK, Paris-CDG, Salt Lake City and Seattle. CLICK HERE
