UNITED OFFERS PARTNER BOARDING PASSES THROUGH APP.     

United Airlines has introduced a new feature on its app that will allow passengers to receive and view electronic boarding passes for connecting flights with 19 of its airline partners. READ MORE                   

 

QATAR AIRWAYS IS OFFERING AN APPLICATION SERVICE FOR VISA ENTRY INTO QATAR

Qatar Airways is offering passengers a smooth and efficient application service for visa entry into Qatar. A new Electronic Travel Advice (ETA) is now live and available for passengers who wish to apply and keep track of their visa applications. AMERICAN AIRLINES NEWEST CLASS OF SERVICE, PREMIUM ECONOMY IS NOW AVAILABLE

American Airlines newest class of service, Premium Economy is now available for purchase on flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and Dallas Fort/Worth (DFW), for travel starting December 15, 2017. Travellers can now enjoy Premium Economy, with wider seats and extra legroom including more recline; expandable foot, leg and headrests; chef inspired meals; complimentary drinks; noise-reducing headphones; a larger entertainment monitor; an amenity kit and more.  READ MORE

 

SOUTHEND AIRPORT PURPOSES TERMINAL EXTENSION

Southend airport has announced plans to extend its terminal building, with an application made to Rochford District Council for permission to commence building works. The airport says the multi-million pound project focuses on two elements, namely an extension to both the north and south ends of the building. The southern expansion will make room for a new baggage sorting and screening area, including new technology designed to help Southend meet new European Hold Baggage Security Screen Standards that come into effect on September 1 2018. Meanwhile, the north end of the building is intended to house improved baggage reclaim facilities. Southend says the existing arrivals baggage area will be replaced with a more spacious one. If planning permission is granted, the airport intends to start construction in early 2018. CLICK HERE 

 

MELIA TO OPEN VENICE HOTEL

Melia Hotels International has announced the addition of a new five-star hotel located on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, which will open in late 2018. The property will be situated within an existing building that will undergo extensive refurbishment. It will feature 79 rooms, a selection of meeting spaces, a signature restaurant and an all-day dining restaurant. Melia says the hotel will also feature a swimming pool, patios and views of Venice’s Grand Canal. Gran Melia Ca’ di Dio will be located within close proximity to Venice’s major attractions, including Doge’s Palace, the National Library of St Mark’s, the Bridge of Sighs and St Mark’s Square. The hotel is owned by the Salute Hospitality Group and will be managed by Melia for an initial 29 years. READ MORE

 

DELTA IS NOW OFFERING FREE MOBILE MESSAGING

Delta is now offering free mobile messaging so you can stay in touch with friends, family, and colleagues while onboard. Never miss an important conversation while on a Delta flight. Free Messaging will be available on Delta Wi-Fi enabled flights for use with iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. Ensure that you have downloaded these apps before you fly (all are free), and that recipients of your messages have the apps downloaded as well. QANTAS WILL LAUNCH THE FIRST NON-STOP ROUTE BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND LONDON

Qantas has received its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner plane, from the Boeing factory in Seattle. The cutting-edge aircraft will start flying the world’s first non-stop route between Australia and London from March 2018. READ MORE

The Air France-KLM group is expanding with Joon, Air France’s new little sister. Joon is the new generation travel experience by Air France. The airline has been designed to meet the expectations of a new generation of travellers. On the schedule: flexibility, a personalized and tailor-made travel experience.
