The client is a global customer data science company with an annual travel spend of £2.3 million.
CTM was engaged to assist with the global expansion of their travel policy.
The main objective was to consolidate the client’s travel programme globally, resulting in cost savings and improved efficiency.
The key objectives were to:
- Consolidate travel management by engaging one global supplier
- Streamline the booking process by implementing a singular online tool
- Improve data accuracy by driving spend into one data warehouse
The nature of the client’s business made it difficult to align each region’s travel requirements into one global policy. There were several challenges, the main being consolidation of data globally and sourcing local agreements.
Based on the findings of CTM’s review, CTM developed a customised solution to consolidate the client’s travel programmes on a global scale, taking into account previously negotiated local agreements. New strategies were proposed to reduce transaction fees and increase online adoption, while CTM was able to renegotiate supplier agreements such as hotel corporate rates, via CTM’s global partner network.
Working together, CTM and the client found methods to improve the efficiency of the travel programme, through continually revising traveller behaviour and providing additional suggestions to improve quarter on quarter.
