TRAVEL

TRENDS

Business

travellers can be their own

worst enemies at times, putting not only

themselves but also their employers’

data at risk too. They will blow caution

to the wind in hotels to gain that all-

important wifi access, for example.

“Free wifi is the worst thing you

can use as it’s all unencrypted,” warns

security expert Dr Richard Tynan,

technologist at Privacy International.

“Travellers want access at all costs and

forget the risks.”

Sharing itineraries, taking

unnecessary vital data on laptops on

trips, and accessing hotel wifi are just

some of the high-risk actions that

should be avoided at all costs. The

worst-case scenario can be financial

loss to the company and impairment

of operations.

CYBER CRIME:

THE NEW FRONTIER

Business travellers and employers need to wake
